Moon theme (NSS, Artemis Society, Moon Society)

  • new moon_society_flyer.pdf - published 4/11/2004
  • another new Moon Society flyer
  • MoonPieChart.pdf - Use this color flile as a poster or transparency. The Moon may be "Pie in the Sky" but, oh, what a recipe! Just what we need to make metal alloys, glass, ceramics, concrete and other building materials. The grounds for economic and industrial self-reliance.
  • MoonPieChartBW.pdf - Use this B/W version of the above as a flyer. Best printed in grayscale. Has blank space in box for your chapter name and contact information.
  • MoonGlobeFlyer.pdf - This flyer, either in a vertical acrylic flyer holder (clear 8x10 photo holder) , or as take with flyer, is a good companion to a Moon Globe, if you have one for your information table.
  • MoonToStayPetition.pdf - This is a petition LRS (NSS-Milwaukee) has used in the past. Even if you don't turn the petitions in to anyone, the act of signing it helps reinforce a positive opinion in the mind of the signer, and you get his or her contact information as a fringe benefit.
  • MoonTreatyObjections.pdf - This was written by Prof. Glenn Harlan Reynolds (law) and helps educate the public on relevant legal questions
  • MoonHomesteadFlyerA.pdf - MoonHomesteadFlyerB.pdf - This pair of pdf files (one portrait, the other land-scape) forms a double-sided flyer. LRS produced this flyer to explain what the visitor was seeing when he or she looked at our table top moonbase homestead. But with the diagram on the one side, the explanation on the other, this two-sided flyer is informative in itself. Plus it gives the URL for a photo of the table top exhibit.
  • SpaceMotorcycle.pdf - The is a minimial open-vacuum lunar ascent vehicle for two persons (in the Artemis Project ™ Refernce Mission) - Produced by the Moon Society Milwaukee Outpost. Artwork © by Vik Olliver- Color file meant to be used as a poster or as a transparency
  • LunarDeclarationSFF.pdf - This is a document produced by the Space Frontier Foundation for the First Lunar Base Development Conference in Houston, 1999.
  • 15Q_LunarSettlement.pdf - This is a two sided flyer answering common questions about the idea of Settlements on the Moon.
  • 20Q_LunarResources.pdf - This is a two sided flyer answering common questions about Resources on the Moon
  • 12Q_LunarLavatubes.pdf - This is a two sided flyer answering common questions about Lavatubes on the Moon
  • Printable Moon Map from space.com
  • More to come (subjects: Lunar lavatubes, Artemis Moonbase, Lunar Obervatories, Proposed South Pole Aitken Basin Sample Return Mission)

Mars theme (NSS, Mars Society)

  • MarsPolicySFF.pdf - This is a statement of the Space Frontier Foundation which favors government led exploration of Mars, enterprise-led development of the Moon
  • MarsColorMeFlag.pdf - This coloring book outline of a Mars flag concept that I came up with long before anyone heard of Kim Stanley Robinson is a big hit with the younger kids, and does teach them a little about Mars
  • MARSHab_flyer.pdf - This is a 2-sided flyer produced by the Wisconsin Mars Society Chapter, to accompany its M.A.R.S. Project Storyboard Exhibit & diorama. There is one color illustration, so this flyer is best printed in grayscale.

Coloring Exercises For Kids

in Gif, Jpeg format

Space Frontier Foundation has produced coloring flyers for kids as part of its "Permission to Dream" Program. Note that some of these flyers have a lot of black in them and that makes them ink guzzlers. You may want to modify them by changing the black backgrounds to a gray, being careful to preserve contrast.

The Lunar Reclamation Society (NSS-Milwaukee) has produced three color-me flag designs

  • EarthColorsFlag.pdf - This flag uses for an outline the shape of the orange peel world map projection that is determined by the distribution of the continents on the globe. It is a flag design that indicates a world with polar caps and clouds (white), forests and grasslands (green), deserts and mountains (tan), and oceans (blue) but not just any such world! The particular orange peel shape says that this world is Earth. Since 1990, thousands of parents, teachers, and kids have snatched up this color-me flyer with enthusiasm - there is a box on the side for chapter name and information.
  • MarsColorMeFlag.pdf - This coloring book outline of a Mars flag concept that I came up with, long before anyone had heard of Kim Stanley Robinson, has been a big hit with the younger kids, and does teach them a little about Mars - there is a box on the side for chapter name and information.
  • EarthMoonFlagSet.pdf - This (2002) matched pair comes from a collaboration between Shaun Moss of Australia and Peter Kokh (LRS) - Caution: use 8.5" x 14" (U.S. Legal) Paper - there is a box on the side for chapter name and information.
